Ayla-Monic Fox is a settler and a multi-disciplinary creator and writer based out of K’jipuktuk, in Mi’kma’ki (also known as Halifax, Nova Scotia). She works primarily with printmaking and fiber, but has a supply closet that suggests otherwise. She has trained in heritage conservation and has worked with a variety of materials in this regard. She has published a handful of essays, short stories, and poetry over the years, and while this work is not her current focus, she still writes regularly.

Ayla is a proponent of slow-making and anti-hustle culture. She releases work when she has work to release, which she takes the time to make in accordance with her energy and chronic pain levels. She is open to weaving and printmaking commissions that respect her values.

Ayla works full time in the GLAM sector and works to fits her art practice into her life around her efforts to survive capitalism.
